Unfortunately "high level areas" means "ok follow this EXACTLY and you'll finish it", its more about how well you can follow instructions over how well you can think up strategys and play on demand. Id like to see a mission that has several variants and somehow forces the player to think on demand. Maybe some AI that are not as dumb as bricks?

It's one thing to not admiring those who have the armor, but it's completely another thing to say it sucks because you can't get it.

On topic, the armor is fine as it is. As someone said, it's just a money sink.

Damit dude read my post I have had ALL the nessassary items multiple times but it dont mean a thing when I could have bought it all on ebay anyway sheeesh!

Obsidian Armor means one thing: You have gold/ectos/shards to spend.

Making it harder to get doesnt change that fact that someone will find a way to get it efficienly and farm it to shit.

Its a money sink, it always has been. its not a badge of skill or "leetness".

Exactly. The whole armor thing is all about that, the look. GW doesn't punish you much if you prefer wearing collector's armor or...well, 1.5k armor from Kaineng & Drok.

On the other hand, GW also doesn't give you anything much if you prefer wearing oh-so-expensive-yet-sometimes-look-bad FoW armor. It's just you and your own style.

Take some of those titles/armors as examples, survivor title is admirable to someone, but not to me and someone else because of some reasons (let's not going into that). And as you said, I and some other people admire those who have FoW armor, but you don't because some of your reasons.

Even if Anet introduces something unique, some people who couldn't get the thing would still complain and belittling those who could. So, what's the point?

what is the problem with fow armor?...............

no matter what ANET does there will be n00bs and ebayers tha twill get a hold of it. and wanna know what i think? "elite" armors were made ONLY to show off your "financial status" in the game, this is why they have the same mods as 1.5k armors. so yes if omeone wants to show off how rotch they are they buy the armnor for that.

show off skill? well you have the titles, /rank, and common cence. what do you want? when you in town ppl gather around you and /cheer?

anyways, its just anouter flaming thread......

do people still consider 15k armors "elite" in the first place...

ever since ive played the game ive always felt that you just had to pay more for cooler looking skins... hence why they are harder to get...

i don't get into these "elite" clichs...

just cuz u have rare anything doesn't say elite in my mind it just shows that the person is fortunate...

it really only takes a few good drops to turn around into enough money to afford these luxuries... and any newb has the same chance to be fortunate as the most experienced addictive player in GW

Put a 3 fold requirement on entering said area to get the armor. A set amount of exp is needed, a set amount of time played on that character is needed, and a set amount of time for having that character created is needed.

So, only those with (sample numbers) 2 Million Exp, 300 Hours on their character, and a 6 month lifespan on their character, could enter this area in addition to the requirements you already put in place. Yes, I know none of those alone are measurements of skill or whatever, but if you add all three of those, chances are people will play their character enough to kill the 6 month time span (added to prevent afking while logged in to hit the 300 hour mark) and while playing for 6 months a normal person playing 2 hours a day can easily make that. The exp is added so that the person had to have at least gone outside and either killed or watched someone kill some monsters.

Umm, already happening. Group was offering to take people to the Forgemaster for a price, something over 100K, promising that they would not have to do anything except wait for the quests to be finished.

to an ebayer it sounds like this:

#1-6 month lifespan on their character: buy a used account with an old character

#2-2 Million Exp: alot of PWR lvl or see #1


#3-300 hour: afk or see #1

thats my whole point take the materials and the money out of elite armors and make people earn them with thier SKILL, roll players know the best loot is never in town but at the bottom of a dungeon that took many trials and skills to reach guild wars could do the same FT merchants the good stuff is much harder to get!!

OK, so one question why are you so against my suggestion

your argument sounds a lot like the one's used by people that don't want to change the social security system, everyone admits there's a problem but doesn't want to change the status quo, okay so what's your suggestion????
